Comcast Offers Scholarships for College

Many well-known companies offer scholarships for college, and Comcast is one of them. Comcast seeks to encourage leaders and achievers through the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Program. This program offers $1,000 scholarships to recipients. It’s not a huge amount of money, but when you’re faced with the high costs of post-secondary education, every dime may truly count. The scholarship is a one-time grant, which means students don’t receive it every year. But if you win one of these awards, you may use it to help pay for your housing or meal plan. It can make a real dent in your costs there.

This scholarship program is for students who are leaders. These students have demonstrated a commitment to serving their communities and have impressed their principals and guidance counselors with their leadership ability. These are the kids who are expected to be movers and shakers–not merely for monetary gain.

While most scholarships for college have application processes a student is supposed to initiate, this one is a bit different. High school principals and guidance counselors nominate students for this program instead. However, this scholarship program is open to homeschooled students as well, and their homeschool instructors can learn more about nominating students by emailing comcast@applyists.com. This is the same email address high school guidance counselors and principals are supposed to use to request more information. Besides demonstrated community service commitments and leadership skills, eligibility for this program requires the student to be a full-time student and a high school senior. Students may demonstrate leadership ability and community service commitment at school or through some type of work, whether paid or not. Additionally Leaders and Achievers scholarships for college are only given to students who have grade point averages of at least 2.8.
